Lullaby

Lullaby
==================

Sleep Sweet My Love,
Steadfast in My Thoughts,
And Know that I Love You,

Though this Sky is Far Away,
My Wish Borne on This Star,
Is the Same that's Watching Over You,

I See You My Dear,
In the Walls of My Heart,
Like a Reflection in a Mirror,

Separated by a Sliver of Silver,
That is a World Apart,
In the Breadth of a Millimeter,

Still, Sleep Sweet My Love,
And Dream Pretty Things,
And Know that I Miss You,

I’ll Hold your Fears,
Here By My Side,
And Never Let Them Near You,

Sleep Sweet My Darlin’,
Tucked in with this Prayer,
Rest, Gentle and True,

The Morning Will Come,
Bearing Another Day,
That Brings Me Closer to You…

The Traveller

The Traveller
====================

Stars Beckon Him again,
The Wanderer of Ages,
Another Ship makes Sail,
Bearing Him and His pages,

He Faces The Silent Sky,
Her White Clouds, Comforting,
Even in Their Darkest Moments,
Their Tears Disguise His Weeping,

Home Lies Far Behind,
A Whisper of Memory,
Of a Hearth’s Dying Embers,
Fading in the Wake of his Journey,

He Carries His Secret With Him,
The Truth of Lost Sons,
That Home now an Alien Place,
Serenaded by Twenty One Guns,

The Miles Kept Him Young,
But Aged His World Unkindly,
Time's Gift to Wanderers,
Another Victim of Relativity,

The Rose

The Rose
========================

Time never befriends us,
Slipping through our hands,
Except when Apart from Her,
Each Moment Needlessly Extends,

She owns My Thoughts,
O' Heaven's Perfect Gift,
Her Laughter Parts My Worries,
And in My Life, Light Drifts,

Her Softest Touch bears Felicity,
Her Scent, Euphoria's Waft,
Daughter of the Starry Night,
The Epitome of God's Craft,

As She Lies Asleep Each Night,
Stars War to Catch a Glance,
The Heavens wait, Stagnant, Silent,
Even the Wind and Leaves don't Dance,

O' Device of My Language,
The Praise of My Song,
She, who Inspires Muses,
The Smile that Awakes the Dawn,

Fated, Like of a Rose,
Loving the Sun from Afar,
I raise My Head each Morning,
With a Bud of Hope, to see My Star...

A Fairy Tale
+++++++++++++++

Hers is a Flower,
That Blooms Above Others,
A Smile He would Remember,
As One Fortune Favors,

She is the Cadence of Charm,
Her Voice makes Hearts Flutter,
She keeps Time with Ease,
With the Childlike Gurgle of Her Laughter,

She Smells of Happy Summers.
Of Autumn that is Passing,
Into the Waft of Warm Winter Love,
She, The Living Scent of Spring,

She Carried In Her Gaze,
The Hint of Memories Unmade,
The Depth of Her Eyes Echoing,
A Lifetime of Words Unsaid,

Like a Dream She Walks,
In His Life Without a Care,
Be it Awake or in Slumber,
She's Always There,

She, The Epitome,
Of Happily-ever-afters,
The Once in a Life-times,
From Fairytale Chapters...

A Son's Missive

A Son's Missive
+++++++++++++++++++

I've Watched Another Year Pass,
With Its Usual song, Tears and Jest,
Again This Spring Sun is Familiar
And With It, The Hollow in My Chest,

I Think of You Fondly Ma,
Never, From My Thoughts Apart,
Your Smile Still Outshines This Sun,
No One's Been Closer to My Heart,

The Little Boy in Me Still Reaches,
His Hand Out for You to Hold,
When Anything Stands in His Path,
Or When the World Gets Too Cold,

And Though You're not Around Anymore,
Your Strength and Lessons Linger,
I'm Glad You've Taught Me well Enough,
To Cross These Roads That Get Wider,

I still Look to the Sky for Hope,
Tho Not from Mankind's Gods,
But From the Traces of Your Smile,
In the Sunlight that Breaks Dark Clouds,

I Miss You Often Ma,
Most So Today,
I Don't Know When We'll Meet Again,
But We'll Catch Up Someday...

The Florin

The Florin
+++++++++++++++++++++

A Threepence met a Florin once,
In a Merchant's Weathered Hand,
Spellbound with Her Sun Washed Glow,
Before in His Purse, She Went,

He was a Worn, Tarnished Silver,
As Most Thruppenny Bits were,
Flitting from Hands to Pockets,
Blithe of Fate, Till Her Allure,

He Wished Not to be Bartered That Day,
Longing Instead, for a Measure in that Purse,
To Again Sight Her Burnished Gold,
The Glint of His Dreams, Terse,

La Fiorino D'oro,
The Only Coin Worth Saving,
Minted by More Careful Hands,
The One Men Loathed Parting...

A Wraith's Tale

A Wraith's Tale
++++++++++++++++++++++

Battered and Forgotten,
The Wispy Form Takes a Step,
The Trail of His Tears,
Shadow His Once Strong Traipse,

Its a Familiar Shodden Path,
That bares Its way Before Him,
How He wound up here again,
Is a Question Just beyond Him,

His Fingers Trace the Scars,
Over where His heart may have Been,
Its last Crumbles Long Borne,
On the Back of a Cold Southern Wind,

He Dared to Dream Before,
Maybe Twice or Thrice In Faith,
Splitting These Scars in hope,
To Find the Heart of a Wraith,

But Alas, There was None,
Not All Souls were Destined to Dream,
Some are Just the Dust,
That Let Others Sleep Serene,

Tho Some Stories end Warm,
There are Tales that Turn Skins Cold,
This is One Such  Tragedy
Of a Youth given a Life Too Old...

Sometimes I cannot speak my thoughts coherently, But I am thankful that I have this place, where I can leave these memories. This poem speaks for itself, and it speaks for me...

Starscraper

Starscraper
++++++++++++++++++
The World Calls,
Yet We Sit Still,
Amidst this Concrete Jungle,
Forgetting Life’s Thrill,

We were Born once,
Kids that Embraced Adventure,
Our Imagination, They Took From Us,
Leaving Pawns for their Venture,

Yet The Stars remain,
Within Sight on This Island,
Reminding Forgotten Truths,
That Our Reach is Further Than this Cavern,

Mankind Has built Skyscrapers,
But Left behind Their Lesson,
These Stars are within Reach,
If only We Hearken Their Beckon…
++++++++++++++++++

Another Long Absence. It happens. But there's something about a clear night sky, with the ocean lapping at your feet, and a ga-ja-za-billion stars out there to put Life in Perspective. Everyone one of those Hot Balls of Gases could be surrounded by 8 Planets like ours, Thats Exponential, Yet, in all that great vastness, we still have a part to play in this circle of life. How we make use of it, now That is Always the Question...

We Are born with the Potential to change our Fates and improve the lives of those around us. We should never settle for anything less then the Stars themselves...

Katherine

Katherine
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
It Got A Lot Darker,
Since Your Light Left Us,
I Let Anger Illuminate My Path,
And Silenced Faith in my Opus,

You Knew That Boy Before,
The One That Made You Cry,
Couldn't Understand Why you Had To Go,
Now I Understand I Just Did Not Try,

I Know Now, That as You Left,
In My Arms That Dark Thursday,
You Gave Me One Last Lesson,
To Get me the Rest of The Way,

I Still Remember Your Pain,
But Now It's Tempered with Your Smile,
Cos No Matter How Tough Things Got,
Giving up was Never Your Style,

I'm Learning Slowly Now,
To Stop Listening for Your Echo,
To Sing My Own Song Instead,
Harmonizing with Your Concerto,

I will Never Fill Your Shoes Ma,
But I Set My Footsteps Next to Yours,
Mother, As Long as I live,
Help Me Steer Your Course,

I Know Someday, Eventually,
7 p.m., Will Come Round Again,
I Hope When You Come to Pick Me up,
I'll be a Son You're Just as Proud to Claim,

Till Then Mother,
I Know Surely,
You'll Never Be Further,
Then My Heart is From Me...

In Loving Memory of my Mother, Katherine Perumal; Oct 21, 1946 - April 13, 2006.

Today will be the 5th Anniversary of my Mother's Passing. I am learning, and I've grown alot since then. Yes I do feel detached from alot of things, but I have slowly come to terms with what has happened. 7pm, is something I mentioned here in this poem, it was a special time, when my Mother would return home everyday from work, and pick me up from my Grandma's Place. It's a reference from an entry in an old Journal I kept. I did not know then, that a Year and a Day from the day I wrote it, my Mother would leave me. I miss Her very much, but the best I can do for Her memory, is to live as She taught me to.

I Miss You Ma..

Lady Unknown

Lady Unknown
+++++++++++++++++++++
I Trace Your Gentle Steps,
Oh Conundrum's Vixen,
Through each Sway and Dance,
My Eyes Follow Entranced,
This Unforeseen Entrapment,
Stolen from a word's Glance,
I wonder What is this Fusion,
And Ponder of Fate and Chance,
I, Who feared only Silence,
Found Her Alive In Your Eyes,
Yet I'm Haunted by Your Presence,
As I Hesitate to throw This Dice,
If There is A Path Laid ahead of me,
I Do not See it lit,
If there is a Book Open Before me,
I barely discern it's script,
I only sense Hope,
The Surf of your Gentle Laughter,
Breaking Against These Shores,
Tapping on these Rusted Shutters...
+++++++++++++++++++++

I haven't been around here for awhile, I actually have some nice ideas filed away, and hopefully I can muster more motivation to cultivate them. This particular one is very personal, it speaks of something that many of us carry within us. It speaks of ambiguity, and it speaks of curiosity, two elements that together could make or break us...
